Honda Fit Hybrid Preview

It may not be officially introduced until the 2010 Paris Motor Show next month, but Honda is planning on releasing a new Fit hybrid car.

Honda Joins With Facebook App

Honda is teaming up with a very popular Facebook application and online game. It's one of the fastest ways to get your product noticed on the internet today - by making a game or smartphone application for it. Honda is on the ball with their social networking venture.

The ads are on display in Facebook virtual game "Car Town," as Honda advertises on the social-network site for the first time today. The game allows users to collect and customize cars, and it has 3.1 million users. It was released on Facebook two weeks ago by Cie Games Inc.

Honda Plans on Plug-ins for 2012

Honda wants to reach another benchmark by 2012. They hope to achieve this by creating a full line up of plug-in (electric) vehicles for that model year.

The Japanese motor company is looking to raise the ratio of hybrid vehicles to 10 percent or more of total production by 2015. The car maker already hopes to have several electric vehicles going within two years.

Honda has only announced plans to sell a battery-run electric car in the United States simply to meet legal requirements in California, arguing their batteries were too expensive to be practical.

Honda will recall approximately 197,000 Accord and 117,000 Civic vehicles from the 2003 model year and roughly 69,000 Element vehicles from the 2003 and 2004 model years in the U.S. to prevent a malfunction of the ignition interlock feature of these vehicles. Honda has received several complaints about such failures in these vehicles and is aware of a small number of related incidents, including one that resulted in a minor injury.

Honda's History of Fuel Efficient Cars

Honda has achieved an award for their contribution to the green auto industry. After many years of producing solid, environmentally friendly automobiles to customers world wide - the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has noticed Honda for having the most fuel efficient cars.

It all began in the 1970's - Honda produced a line of two-cylinder engines to help cope with the global fuel shortage crisis. Those engines were rated at up to 50 miles to the gallon.

The first-generation Honda Insight achieved 53 miles per gallon which was followed by the 1986-1987 Honda Civic Coupe HF.

Honda Civic Hybrid Gets 50 MPG

The Honda Civic Hybrid beat out their green car competition and produced over 40 miles to the gallon. Not only did the Honda Civic Hybrid reach 40 MPG, it received 50 MPG.

During Years of analysis, the Civic Hybrid has indeed achieved 50 MPG on the test course and during other conservative trial runs.

A real world driving test has now been completed, while stopping and going at speeds of 60-65 mph, the car still reached the fueld economy goal.
