2012's Honda Civic was designed to offer the best in aerodynamics, thus giving its drivers optimal fuel economy. Offering even more to those behind the wheel, the Civic 5-Door (also known as a hatchback) is coming - but only to European dealers.

Don't worry, the Honda specialists at Fletcher Jones Honda in Chicago, IL have plenty of 2 and 4-Door Honda Civics available. You'll have to go overseas to get into a 5-Door.

Inside this 'Euro-Spec Civic' - not much will differ from American models. "The cabin is outfitted with 'soft touch' plastics, a redesigned steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment system," according to Honda PR. 2012's model is 10mm wider, 20mm lower, and comes with either 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels.¹

But let's get to the good points - Under Civic's hood: three engines are available. A 1.4-liter i-VTEC produces 98 hp and 94 lb-ft of torque. The 1.8-liter i-VTEC gives you 139 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. Finally,  Honda's the 2.2-liter i-DTEC diesel produces 148 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Acceleration from 0-62 mph (or 0-100 km's) is 13.4 seconds for the 1.4, 9.1 seconds for the 1.8, and 8.5 seconds for the 2.2 diesel. Top speeds are 116, 134 and 135 mph respectively.
